The Trinity – Father, Son, Holy Spirit
We believe that God is revealed in scripture as Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
One Creator God
We believe that God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things (Genesis 1:1, Acts 17:28, Hebrews 11:3).
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was John 1:1-5 ‘in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.’
To look out at this kind of creation and not believe in God is to me impossible.
(Astronaut John Glenn)
The Word Became Flesh
We believe that God took on human flesh (Philippians 2:6-8, John 14:8-9), was born to the virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14)
). We believe Jesus was at the same time fully divine and fully human – the John 3:16, Matthew 1:21 and came into our world in order to save people (God Man, the perfect man.
Jesus is God spelling Himself out in language that men can understand.
I am an historian, I am not a believer, but I must confess as an historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the very centre of history. Jesus Christ is easily the most dominant figure in all history.
(H.G. Wells, British author)
One Death & Resurection
We believe that only because of Jesus’ death and resurrection people can be forgiven and have eternal life.
Acts 4:12, John 14:6 We believe that Jesus is the only Saviour of mankind (), because He was the only one qualified to die on our behalf (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Christ is the Son of God. He died to atone for men’s sin, and after three days rose again. This is the most important fact in the universe. I die believing in Christ. (Watchman Nee)
We believe that today Jesus is Lord and King, seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven and has all authority over everyone and everything in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18, Revelation 19:16)
Revelation 21:1, Hebrews 9:27We believe that one day Jesus will return, that He will judge all creation and that He will bring about a new heaven (.and a new earth.
We believe that Salvation (forgiveness of Sins – becoming right in the eyes of God) cannot be achieved by any human effort but comes purely and freely by accepting the grace sacrifice paid by Jesus Christ and believing in faith that we are forgiven through this sacrifice and restored to God the Father. Eph. 2:8-9 – ‘ For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.’
